Windows 7 RC

The Windows 7 Rc (release candidate) was released today, an upgrade from the beta version. Like the beta, the RC is expected to have an end date after which it will not function. However, I think its good enough to atleast give it a try. Windows 7 is a large improvement over Vista and XP. There is no need to reinstall drivers, no glaring security problems, no annoying UAC pop ups and various other improvements. The new GUI is much simpler and faster than vistas. In addition, the operating system is completely future proofed with new features including cpu graphics abilities and support for virtual hard drives and cloud computing. It is also more optimized than vista, requiring only half the hard disk space and about 1/3 the processor abilities. The full version of the OS will also give the user the option to run xp in a virtual machine and redirect all the windows to their local 7 screen. Anyway, with all these features, and only a 2.5 gb download, you might as well try this new OS out. There are 3 ways that you can do so.

1. Reformat your computer with Windows 7! I suggest against this however since once you reach that date, unless you use a 3rd party crack (which there are plenty of), you will have to reformat again.

2. Hot partition your hard drive or load the os onto a new harddrive. This will give you the maximum experience of Windows 7, graphics and all, at the minimum expense.

3. Run it in a virtual machine, either buy or torrent a copy of VM workstation or download the free VM Player, and you can run windows 7 regardless of the OS you have currently.

  1. I think its funny how they have already started on windows 8 before they finish 7. Anyways Windows 7 is awsome!! I had originally partitioned my drive to try the beta thinking I would occassionally boot it for fun, but it ended up becoming the operating system I use the most.
